The Tower of the Crucifixion wears an image of Bishop Michael J. Gallagher on the front elevation. Following the medieval whim of church builders in substituting the features of contemporaries for those of apostles and saints, the bishop peers out over Woodward Avenue in carved limestone as the Archangel Michael.
